Living Room Décor Ideas

The living room is the centre of any house where you invite the guest to be on the first place, be it family or friends. This room therefore will have the first impression of how neatly and organized you keep your things at home. And so it is very important to ensure that we do our best to enhance the look of our living room to leave a lasting impression on our guests’ thoughts.

Here are some simple decorating ideas that can be done you within less than an hour and least cost with the things that’s lying around our house, unused.

Old glass bottles: The beauty of the living room can be enhanced by adding colors to it. The best to add color is by placing natural flowers or plants in the vases to project the color and the smell of room. When using natural flowers, we will have to use a DIY vase. All we have to do is paint the old glass bottle or a mason jar with the bright color which goes well with the living room theme and use it as a decorative piece anywhere around the room.

DIY wall art: Any plain wall can be decorated with a painting which goes by the theme we set up for the room. Make a simple pattern wall art on the canvas by sticking removable washy tapes and then painting the canvas. Remove the tape and it gives a pattern wall art done all by you to be placed as a decorative piece on the plain wall. It is a quick way to create and customize the room.

Letter decor on the wall: Add a simple message on the wall by sticking black or golden colored letters of your favorite phrases on the wall. It could be motivational sentences that you or your family member would love to see whenever they have a glance of the wall. Simple and elegant idea that would be loved by everyone!

Mason jar planter: To have some greens around the room, use Mason jar to plant some small plants. Cover the Mason jar with a jute rope and decorate it with artificial flowers or beads and place it on the coffee table or side table as a simple decorative piece.

Mason jar window treatment: To enhance the look of the living room windows, hang some maser jar with live or artificial flowers or plants. Instead of hanging the climbers directly on the windows, place the plants in a mason jar and hang it using jute rope and command hooks.

Fabric cushion covers: Cushion covers are integral part of the living room. Make some unique pillow covers for yourself in less than an hour. Make simple fabric cushion covers, either by sewing or on-sew covers using the old clothes. Decorate the cushion covers with buttons, sequence, tulle fabric or simple embroidery stitches and throw it on the sofa to enhance the look of the dull plain sofas.

DIY candle holders: Tea light candles when lit up in the evening gives a soothing feel to the eyes as well as a pleasant aroma to the room. So, decorate the room with a number of candles around the room to be lit up in the evening or night. Make your own candle holders using old cups, mason jars or any unused glass vessel by painting it with shiny golden or silver color to give that aesthetic look.
