15 Kitchen Storage Ideas

Kitchen is not just the place for cooking but also now in the modern world it has become the space for cooking, dining, entertaining and relaxing with the family. And hence now the in style kitchen is open kitchen.

We need to be clever to while making storage areas in the kitchen. Regardless of what the size or style the kitchen is; everyone will agree with more storage availability in kitchen. From countertops, build in cabinets; freestanding dressers and open shelves, there are plenty of smart ideas for effective storage even in small kitchen.

1. Cube shelves: Make cube shelved to place the table wares, glasses and mugs neatly. Cover one side of the shelf with chalkboard for writing shopping lists.

2. Cupboard: Try placing all the table wares inside the closed cupboards instead on keeping it them on the table. Dedicate a shelf for each item.

3. Multifunctional free standing unit: Kitchen trolley with moveable work bench is a great idea. Glasses, bottles, crockery and even oils and spices can be stored in the trolley.

4. Open shelves: Consider installing open shelves near the stove and sink to give shabby yet functional look. Spices, oils and things that we use regularly can be stored here.

5. Hooks: Use hooks to hang the spoon, spatula or mugs in style and can be easily accessed.

6. Pegboards: Hang pegboards on the wall which adds flexible storage space that can be adjusted as per the need.

7. Pantry ladder: Convert the ladder to storage unit by attaching wooden blocks. This furniture would hardly take any space and can be kept near the fridge or wall.

8. Room divider storage unit: Use the room divider to make extra storage space. Solid shelves that reach almost to the ceilings with open end on both rooms can be used to store pots, pans, plates and will be more convenient to serve while dining.

9. Railing: Hang a slim rail along the wall above the sink and use S-hooks to hang the spatula, lids and whiskers.

10. Cabinet top as storage: Store the rarely used or occasional serving utensils on the top of the cabinet to increase storage space.

11. Shelves under the island countertop: It is a great way to store small dishes, magazines and cookbooks.

12. Window storage: Hang the pots and pans in the kitchen window. Place the spices and oil for daily use on the window near the stove for easy access.

13. Magnetic strip: Stick a magnetic strip on the wall to store the kitchen knives and cutlery.

14. Cabinet sides: If the cabinet is not butt up against the wall, attach hooks to hang pots, napkins and spoons on the side of cabinet.

15. Door storage: Inside of the cabinet or pantry door can also be used as storage. Hang the cups, cutting board or even pan lids inside the doors.
