One of the messiest rooms in any house is kids room – with all the toysscattered around, bed spread never at kept neat, study table unorganized, andthe closets cluttered. We need some strategic storage solutions to keep thekids room neat by picking up the toys and keep them organized after the playis over.
Similarly keeping the bed, closet and study table clutter free. Let us check how to organize the kid’s room using the existing wall and furniture and keep the clutter at bay.

 Stack up the old crates or boxes side by side to make it cubbies of storage unit. Use these boxes to store books, toys and other accessories.
 Use the bins with tops to double the function. Store the laundry clothes inside the bin and the top can be used to place toys and books.
 Use coat rack to hang the caps, coats, umbrella, belt, bags and other items with hangers. The coat rack can be kept in any corner of the room which does not take up much of space.
 Make a built in bench with drawers to make extra storage space. The drawers can be used to store shoes, bags and toys.
 Make floating shelves to store the books and toys. Add a floating shelf using wooden plank and rope to make a mini-library beside the bed. This could encourage the kids to read the books during bedtime.

 Make built in shelves for storage saver. In a small room the built-in open shelves can be used to display and store the books. And if the shelves have door, it is good to store the clothes and other accessories like hair clips and jewellery.
 Combine storage with play by converting the closet into play house. Make the storage part of play area like a doll house or play kitchen.
 Make a stuff toy bin to throw all the stuff toys after play. Encourage the kids to fill the bin with the stuff toys once they are done for the day. This way these toys will be lie scattered all over the room.
 A super easy and cheap DIY is to use spice shelves to store books beside the bed.
 Label the drawers with the clothing category to help the kids get dressed themselves. This also helps in storing the clothes at the right place even by the kids.
 Use peg boards to store stationeries like pencils, erasers, markers,ribbons and color pens in boxes fixed to peg boards.
 Transform a part of lackluster closet into a hiding spot for kids. Theother part can be used for storage.
 Convert the old coffee table to a play table with storage for kids. Thetable can be used by the children to play board games.
